On international Women's Day we welcome Mily B as our newest FLY resident.

In honour of International Women's Day, we are kicking off a month-long series of mixes from our favourite selectors with local powerhouse, Mily B.

Before we get into it, we would like to introduce Mily B as our newest FLY Resident, adding to our ever growing talented locker of much loved ressies.

Mily B has recently risen up the ranks with impressive shows such as supporting Skin On Skin, Surusinghe, O’Flynn, and headlining her own FLY Club show back in Jan. She'll make her main stage debut FLY Open Air this year after playing Fools Utopia stage in 2022. Mily’s sound focuses on a blend of break-beat, trance, electro and techno, and incorporates her love for hip hop and rap throughout. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Mily.

We took the time to ask her a few questions so you can get to know her….

Tell us a bit about yourself?
I’m Mily B, a selector from Edinburgh. My favourite styles to play are trance, breaks, electro and
techno. I’m also really into hip-hop and rap. Frank Ocean is my favourite artist ever and I have him
tattooed on me twice!
In my mix for Fly, I tried to sum up what I’d play from the start of the night to the end of the night in
a club, mixing my different styles into an hour.

How did you get into DJ’ing?
I started DJ’ing when I lost my sister to manage my mental health and keep me motivated. I set
myself goals for what I wanted to achieve to drive me forward. I’ve always been such a music
person, so it just made sense. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made and allowed me to have so many
amazing experiences and meet such good like-minded people.

What’s in the pipeline for you right now?
I’m playing the main stage on the Sunday of Fly Open Air in May alongside some of my favourite ever
DJ’s and playing Cultivate in Aberdeen. I also have more gigs in Glasgow coming up, which I’m
excited about, and another headline for Fly Club this summer.

What’s been the best moment in your career so far?
When I headlined Fly Club in January, all my friends and family came, and I had my best friend Mina
on the warmup. It was so nice being surrounded by all my people and having my Dad behind the
decks with me, whilst being able to play a peak-time track selection. Supporting Skin On Skin and X-
Club was so fun for Open Air After Hours, and becoming a Fly resident was a goal I set for myself so
I’m really excited and grateful to have achieved that.

Which woman do you look up to the most?
My Mum always!

What’s your guilty pleasure tune?
Destiny’s Child - Say My Name.

Favourite club?
Subby or Sneakys! But I hold Cab Vol close to my heart because going there when I was younger defo
influenced my want to DJ.

Biggest inspo?

I’m really inspired by selectors like Job Jobse, who got to where they are from their mixing ability
and track selections. I’m also really inspired by producers who make timeless music, like Joy
Orbison’s Hyph Mngo and Jamie xx's In Colour.

Festival or club?
A festival girl!

Ultrices lectus est massa mattis eu ultricies pharetra. Semper tortor pellentesque bibendum erat euismod. Dui arcu ipsum sit sagittis, felis magna maecenas tincidunt tincidunt.
